Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS)

Tata Institute of Social Sciences, a multi campus institution, deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, and a grant-in-aid Institute under Ministry of Education, Government of India, was established in the year 1936.

Since its inception, the vision of TISS has been to be an institution of excellence in higher education that continually responds to changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge, towards creating a people-centred, ecologically sustainable and just society that promotes and protects dignity, equality, social justice and human rights for all.

School of Skill Education (SSE)

School of Skill Education was set up in December 2011 to spearhead the Institute’s commitment to provide skill education and training to millions of youth in India through appropriately designed industry relevant/market oriented skill education programmes.
